We’ve rebuilt from the ground up how Dcycle calculates emissions associated with goods shipped and received, employee commuting, and purchases. Results are now more precise, and you can see with full traceability how each number is reached.
What’s improving with the new methodology
- Goods shipped and received (Scope 3): we apply factors with all the decimal places published by official sources, and you can choose between DEFRA and Ecoinvent for emissions calculations.
- Employee commuting (Scope 3): same improvement in precision, with a choice between DEFRA and Ecoinvent.
- Purchases (Scope 3): same improvement in precision, now with more database options: DEFRA, Ecoinvent, Agribalyse, and EXIOBASE.
On top of that, as a new feature, you can now upload both weight and currency data (euros or others) for the same purchase.
What this means for you
- Everything you upload from now on is automatically calculated using the new methodology.
- You’ll be able to see the detailed calculation behind the impact of your goods, commuting, and purchases.
- For purchases, you get more flexibility when reporting: you can combine weight and currency data for the same purchase. ➡️ We recommend recalculating even if the numbers change slightly: you’ll gain flexibility to choose databases, audit-ready results, and full traceability in the calculation.
