Royal Decree 214/2025 made Spain's registry a system with technical minimums. Dcycle prepares the inventory, the reduction plan and the evidence a verifier asks.
What Dcycle covers
The registry has three sections and three seals. Dcycle covers the data work behind each one, from the annual inventory to the evidence your verifier reviews.
Annual inventory under GHG Protocol or ISO 14064
To register you need an annual greenhouse gas inventory built with an internationally recognised methodology and a clearly defined organisational boundary. Dcycle calculates Scope 1 and 2, the mandatory minimum, and Scope 3 when you want to include it, using operational or financial control as your boundary requires.
Official MITECO factors, versioned
New electricity invoices, vehicle consumption and stationary fuel invoices that use MITECO as their source are calculated with version 5.0, which added 32 electricity suppliers. You can see which database and version sits behind every calculation, choose the version per year and per subsidiary, and recalculate when MITECO publishes an update mid-year.
The reduction plan the registry demands
The Calculo seal is not enough on its own: the decree requires a reduction plan with concrete actions and measurable outcomes, which is what the Reduzco seal recognises. Leia, Dcycle's built-in AI, analyses your emissions by hotspot and helps you build, prioritise and review the targets and actions of that plan from your own data.
Ready for external verification
Where the decree requires an accredited third party, the bottleneck is never the calculation, it is the evidence. Every data point in Dcycle traces back to the source file it came from, you can export every emission factor used for a given date range, and we run a pre-verification data health review with you before the auditor arrives.
Offsetting and absorption projects
The registry's second and third sections cover offsetting and CO2 absorption projects, and the Compenso seal sits on top of them. Offsets must come from officially approved projects that meet permanence, additionality and no-leakage criteria. Dcycle keeps the offsetting side documented alongside the footprint it belongs to, so the three seals tell one consistent story.
Groups, subsidiaries and ownership share
Spanish groups rarely register a single company. Dcycle consolidates the holding and its subsidiaries, lets you choose exactly which organisations a report includes, and applies each subsidiary's ownership percentage when you report under the financial control approach.
