Their objective was to position themselves in the industry betting on sustainability by improving their impact to turn it into a Before collaborating with Dcycle, La Boca te Lía calculated its carbon footprint through an external company. This process was not only slow but also limited the company’s ability to make real-time adjustments, as it lacked visibility into the specific consumption of each facility. Without direct control over the information, it was challenging to identify which areas or locations required more attention in terms of efficiency.

Data collection also posed obstacles. Integrating information from suppliers to measure Scope 3 (indirect emissions) required cooperation from third parties who could not always provide the necessary data. Additionally, without an optimised internal system, managing emission factors to meet MITECO’s requirements was problematic, and updates needed for emission calculations were sometimes delayed. The added costs of working with an external consultancy only compounded these challenges.
